Below is a short video file, with the full audio file underneath, of Arthur Scargill’s talk on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the miners’ strike. Arthur gave insight on the background to the strike, its course and consequences, as well as some thoughts on the trade union movement and the European Union.

Enjoy.

Interesting evening, but Arthur is still less than convincing on the issue of why there was no national ballot. Yes, I know union rules said one was not required, but the lack of a national ballot was the stick Kinnock, the media, Thatcher and the Nottingham miners were able to beat the NUM with.

Pity the question time at the end was so short, but i blame the idiots who when offered a chance to ask a question spent 10 minutes giving their own opinions on various issues.
